Important Tips

Police Report: If your passport was stolen, consider filing a police report, although it is not a requirement for replacing your passport.

Validity: Your replacement passport will have the same expiration date as your lost or stolen one if it was issued less than a year ago. If it was issued over a year ago, the new passport will be valid for the usual ten years.
